About the Concert

If you say Portugal, you also say Fado - hardly any music style is as closely associated with a particular country as this one. And so popular beyond the country's borders! Fado means as much as fate and most of the time the lyrics are also about futile love and world-weariness. And yet, or precisely because of this, it inevitably casts a spell over the audience. Especially when it is performed by the great artists of Fado like Sara Correia. She comes from a Lisbon family of fadistas, won her first singing competition at the age of 13, and is now celebrated as one of the most exciting new fado singers in the country. With a powerful voice, Sara Correia sings about what she feels inside: pain and sadness, laughter and love, wonderful melancholy.
