About the Concert

City festival and Dresden Philharmonic, they have been together for many years! This time we open it with a programme that simply creates a good mood. This is ensured by tango rhythms as well as the typical Broadway sound of George Gershwin. The whole thing gets the right momentum from the accordion, which can do much more than one usually thinks...

Christoph Koncz

The Austrian conductor Christoph Koncz has already established himself as one of the outstanding musicians of his generation, performing worldwide with orchestras such as the London Symphony Orchestra, Orchestre de Paris, Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden, Orchester der Wiener Staatsoper, Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, Mahler Chamber Orchestra, Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, hr‑Sinfonieorchester Frankfurt, Orchestre Métropolitain de Montréal and Hong Kong Philharmonic as well as at opera houses such as the Opernhaus Zürich, National Theatre Prague, Teatro Real Madrid and Wiener Staatsoper.

Ksenija Sidorova

Celebrated for her “verve, style, attitude and impeccable virtuosity” (ZealNYC), she brings a compelling blend of technical brilliance and expressive musicality to every performance.

Her repertoire spans over three centuries encompassing works by J.S. Bach, Astor Piazzolla, Erkki-Sven Tüür and Václav Trojan, alongside a growing body of contemporary works written specifically for her.
