Sinfoniekonzert

Christmas Concert

With Glazunov's romantic violin concerto and the famous organ symphony by Saint-Saëns

About the Concert

Child prodigies often only have a short career; few manage to develop into great artists. The Austrian Erich Wolfgang Korngold succeeded in this. He took composition lessons at the age of six and soon impressed the greats among contemporary composers such as Puccini and Strauss with his works. They were so mature that some even doubted that a child could have written them. This was also the case with the ballet suite "The Snowman", which he created at the age of 13. Sergey Khachatryan was also considered a child prodigy. He made his first appearance with the violin in Armenia and gave his first concert with an orchestra at the age of nine. In the meantime, he has appeared on all the world's great concert stages. The Violin Concerto by Glazunov is one of his favourite pieces and, with its melodicism, folkloristic echoes and "rapturous expansiveness", it also has all the ingredients to be an audience favourite.
