Leonardo Mockridge

Born in Bonn, Leonardo "Lenny" Mockridge studied film music at the University of Brighton from 2011 and has been working as a film composer since 2015. As a theater musician, he works with directors including Anne Lenk, Sarah Kohm, Peter Kleinert, Evgeny Titov, Frank Behnke, and Kieran Joel.

 

In 2017, he composed the theater music for Kieran Joel's "Johanna d'Arc" based on Schiller's "The Maid of Orleans" at the Volksbühne Berlin and for "Don Quixote" by Miguel de Cervantes at the Theater im Bauturm in Cologne, the latter production winning the Cologne Theater Prize in 2018.

 

With Sarah Kohm as director, he worked for the Schaubühne Berlin as a musician for "Erinnerung eines Mädchens" by Annie Ernaux in 2022. In 2023, the Schauspiel Dortmund opened the season with "Das Kapital: Das Musical", for which Lenny Mockridge composed the music and songs.

 

The films for which he has written the music include the immigrant drama "King of Ravens" (2021) and the drag drama "My Girlfriend Volker" (2023).

 

The music he writes and/or produces is regularly broadcast on channels and portals such as ARD, NDR, WDR, Netflix, Nickelodeon, MTV, SAT1, and Tele 5.
