Austrian actor Michael Rotschopf, born in Tyrol, began his career as a member of the ensemble at the Burgtheater in Vienna while still studying acting at the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna and singing at the Arnold Schoenberg Choir. He also appeared in successful productions at the Schauspiel Frankfurt/Main and frequently at the Salzburg Festival. He has worked with renowned theater directors, including Peter Stein in the legendary 24-hour “Faust” project as Baccalaureus, and in “Wallenstein.” A multiple award winner – including the Grimme Prize – Rotschopf plays his roles in the theater and often in films with masterful acting, sophistication, and impressive presence. He can currently be seen in the new episodes of the popular television series Ku'damm 77. He appeared as a narrator in the US premiere of Bernd Alois Zimmermann's Requiem for a Young Poet at Carnegie Hall in New York, followed by guest appearances in Paris, London, and Berlin. Michael Rotschopf is also active as a narrator of radio plays and audiobooks.
