With her own unmistakable sound, Pia Neises is one of the masters of her craft. She sees herself as a musician and dancer in equal measure. Jazz and the great stages of classical music are her home. Her jazz trio features the most sought-after instrumentalists in Germany and Europe. (Martin Sasse, Martin Gjakonovski & Marcus Rieck)
In January 2017, Pia Neises accepted Corrina Rottschy's invitation to dance the "Morton Gould Tapdance Concerto" with the WDR Funkhaus Orchester (conductor: Eckehard Stier) at the Kölner Philharmonie. With the Bremen Philharmonic Orchestra (GMD Marko Letonja) she performed this work 3 times at the Bremer Konzerthaus - Die Glocke in December 2018. Pia danced Duke Ellington's "Sacred Concert" - "David Danced Before The Lord" at the Festwochen Klassische Musik Oppenau 2017. With her current production "Pia Neises featuring Martin Sasse & Trio" she was a guest at the renowned "Alte Pfandhaus"-Köln, at the 6th Winterjazz Festival Köln 2017 and the Hildener Jazz Tage 2018. In this production, cast with some of the most sought-after instrumentalists in their field, one experiences musical communication at the highest level: playful, authentic, refreshing - and with a hell of a lot of groove!
One of the highlights of her New York concerts is without doubt the "New York City Tap Festival Hoofer Award 2001" with Brenda Bufalino's "American Tap Dance Orchestra", one of the most renowned tap dance ensembles in the USA, with whom she danced in honour of Gregory Hines.
