Robert Lis

Born in Dąbrowa Górnicza, Poland, Robert Lis began playing the violin at the age of six. One of the most talented Polish violinists of his generation, he has won numerous national and international competitions. He graduated with honours from the Ignacy Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznań in 2011, having studied under Prof. Dr. Marcin Baranowski. The following year, he earned a second master's degree at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam under Ilya Grubert.

 

From 2010 to 2012, he was assistant leader of the second violins in the Radio Kamer Filharmonie. From 2012 to 2018, he was second concertmaster of the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra. Since 2018, he has held the position of second concertmaster of the Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden.
