1. Scope
1.1 The General Terms and Conditions (GTC) govern the legal relationship between the Dresden Philharmonic and its visitors and partners and form part of the contract between them. They also apply to the purchase of tickets.
1.2 The GTC apply to concerts and events organized by the Dresden Philharmonic.
1.3 Additional terms apply to subscriptions (see Section 8).
1.4 Special regulations may apply to individual events.
2. Opening Hours
2.1 Daytime Box Office
Tickets are sold at the Dresden Philharmonic ticket service in the Kulturpalast, Schloßstr. 2, 01067 Dresden, entrance Wilsdruffer Straße.
2.2 Event and Evening Box Office
Located in the foyer of the Kulturpalast, the box office typically opens one hour before concert start time. Only tickets for the immediate event are sold.
3. Admission Prices
3.1 Price Categories
Concerts of the Dresden Philharmonic are assigned to different price categories, listed in concert overviews and on the official website.
3.2 Discounts
Discounted concerts and eligible groups are listed in the concert overview, at the ticket service, and on the website. Proof of eligibility must be presented before purchase and at entry. Discounts cannot be applied retroactively, and only one discount per ticket is allowed.
3.3 Third-Party Providers
The Dresden Philharmonic is not liable for ticket prices set by third-party vendors such as travel agencies or online platforms.
3.4 Excluded Services
Program booklets, parking fees, public transport, and other additional services are not included in the ticket price.
4. Advance Sales | Online Ticket Purchase
4.1 Advance Sales
The start of ticket sales is announced with the publication of the season brochure. Authorized sales partners may charge a service fee. Subscriptions and flexible subscriptions may limit the availability of tickets for general sale.
4.2 Online Ticket Purchase
The online shop offers standard-priced and youth tickets. Discounted tickets, wheelchair-accessible seats, and companion tickets must be purchased at the box office. Online payments are possible via VISA, PayPal, and Dresden Philharmonic vouchers. Ticket purchases require customer and address details.
4.3 Special Situations (e.g., Pandemic Regulations)
In exceptional circumstances, ticket purchases may require visitor registration, including contact details. Tickets are transferable only upon consultation with the visitor service and issuance of new tickets.
4.4 PhilCard
Starting with the third purchase of a standard-price ticket, visitors can request a personal PhilCard for the current season. It grants a 10% discount on up to two tickets per concert (subject to availability) for all subsequent Dresden Philharmonic concerts, except special events, New Year's, and New Year's Eve concerts. The PhilCard is non-transferable and non-refundable.
5. Ticket Orders
5.1 Written Ticket Orders
Ticket orders for a season can be submitted by post or email. Orders for the upcoming season (or a forthcoming pre-sale start) are accepted from the designated pre-sale start date.
If ticket requests cannot be fulfilled, the customer will receive a written notification. If tickets are available or an alternative is possible, the customer will receive a written confirmation in the form of an invoice, including price, shipping fee, payment method, and reservation deadline.
5.2 New Year's Concerts
The sale start for concerts will be announced. No advance reservations will be accepted.
5.3 Phone Orders
Phone orders can be made during Ticket Service hours. If the desired tickets are available, the customer will be informed about the price, customer number, and reservation period.
5.4 Group Orders
Group orders of 10 tickets or more can only be placed in writing. There are no group discounts. Travel agencies can inquire about options.
5.5 Invoice
Tickets are sent after payment of the pre-sent invoice. The total processing fee is €2.50 for up to 6 tickets, €5.00 for up to 15, and €10.00 for 16 or more.
5.6 Reservations
The reservation deadline is typically two weeks from the reservation date. If tickets are picked up at the box office, a fee of €1.50 is charged.
5.7 Cancellation of Orders
The customer can cancel their reservation within the reservation period, either in writing or by phone.
5.8 Ticket Pickup
Tickets held at the evening box office must be picked up no later than 30 minutes before the concert begins. Tickets not picked up in time may be reassigned.
5.9 Gift Vouchers
Gift vouchers of any value can be purchased at the Ticket Service or online. Vouchers are redeemable until December 31 of the third calendar year after the issue date. Vouchers are only accepted if purchased through the Dresden Philharmonic.
5.10 Shipping
If tickets or vouchers are shipped at the buyer's request, they assume the shipping risk. The Dresden Philharmonic is not responsible for lost tickets or vouchers.
5.11 Payments
Tickets and vouchers can be paid by cash, debit card, credit card, PayPal, or bank transfer. Payments must be in euros. The buyer must check the tickets and change immediately upon receipt. No complaints will be accepted later.
5.12 Price Changes
Price changes, processing fees, and surcharges are subject to the regulations of the City of Dresden.
6. Ticket Returns | Lost Tickets
6.1 Returns and Exchanges
Tickets can be exchanged up to 5 business days before the concert for another Dresden Philharmonic concert of equivalent price category for a €6 fee per ticket.
6.1.1 Due to the pandemic, ticket returns are only possible in case of a positive COVID-19 test if communicated before the concert.
6.2 Loss
The Dresden Philharmonic is not obligated to issue replacement tickets for lost tickets unless the buyer can prove or credibly confirm which ticket was purchased.
6.3 Concert Cancellation
If a concert is canceled or interrupted within the first 30 minutes, the ticket price will be refunded, except in cases of force majeure.
7. Other Regulations
7.1 Commercial Resale
The public and commercial resale of tickets is prohibited, except for businesses whose operations include the sale or mediation of tickets.
7.2 Wheelchair Seats
Designated wheelchair spaces are available for people with disabilities and their companions.
7.3 Seat Assignment
Visitors are entitled to the seat printed on their valid ticket. In special cases, seat changes may occur.
7.4 Admission
The ticket must be shown at the concert hall entrance, and proof of eligibility for discounts may be required. Latecomers may not be admitted during the concert but can enter during the break.
7.5 Right of Withdrawal
Consumers can withdraw from contracts under the applicable law, with specific exceptions for services related to leisure activities, such as concert tickets.
7.6 Liability Disclaimer
The Dresden Philharmonic is not liable for damages resulting from non-compliance with the regulations by visitors.
7.7 Warranty
No liability is assumed for information in publications. Current concert programs are available through the Ticket Service or website.
7.8 Private Resale
The sale of tickets by visitors or third parties within the event venues is not permitted.
8. Subscription | Flexible Subscription
8.1 Subscription
8.1.1 Payment Method | Ticket Delivery
Subscribers usually receive an offer for their subscription when the season brochure for the upcoming concert season is released. The price is to be paid in full within the specified payment period after receiving the invoice. Payment can be made via direct debit, bank transfer, existing customer credit, or on-site with a credit card, debit card, VISA, or in cash.
Tickets and customer cards are sent after payment is received.
8.1.2 Changes
Changes to subscriptions or seat swaps are only possible for the new concert season, depending on availability and before the invoice is paid. Written requests can be made beforehand.
8.1.3 Cancellation
The subscription is valid for one concert season and will automatically renew (except for flexible subscriptions) unless a written cancellation is received by April 30th. Cancellations can only be made at the end of the current concert season, regardless of receiving a new subscription offer.
8.1.4 Customer Card
Subscribers or flexible subscribers receive a customer card.
8.1.5 Data Protection
Personal data (first name, last name, address, phone number, and email) is collected when subscribing. This data is used by the Dresden Philharmonic for sending subscription offers, invoices, concert announcements (e.g., season brochure), and exclusive subscriber offers. Data will only be shared with third parties as per Article 28 GDPR for the purpose of sending the mentioned materials.
Data will be deleted after the statutory retention period.
8.2 Flexible Subscription
8.2.1 The flexible subscription allows you to choose at least four concerts from the Philharmonic’s concert offerings (excluding special, New Year’s, and children’s concerts). Seat categories and availability can vary per concert. A fixed number of seats must be booked for each concert.
8.2.2 Entitlement
There is no entitlement to a specific seat or seating category.
8.2.3 Validity
The flexible subscription is valid within one concert season and automatically ends after the last booked concert. It cannot be extended after purchase. Multiple flexible subscriptions can be purchased each season.
8.2.4 Payment
The flexible subscription must be paid in full at the time of booking.
8.2.5 Data Protection
Personal data is processed as described under the standard subscription above.
8.3 Other Regulations for Subscriptions | Flexible Subscriptions
8.3.1 Fee
A one-time processing fee of €1.00 per subscription or flexible subscription per season is charged.
8.3.2 Resale
Subscription or flexible subscription tickets at standard prices are not transferable to other people. Public or commercial resale is not permitted.
8.3.3 Returns and Exchanges
Tickets for individual concerts within a subscription can be exchanged up to three concerts per season for a fee of €3.00 per ticket, subject to availability. Exchanges are possible from the start of individual ticket sales up to two business days before the concert date.
Changes to higher-priced seats require payment of the price difference. Exchanges to lower-priced tickets do not entitle you to a refund.
8.3.4 Duplicate
If an subscriber loses their ticket, a duplicate can be issued for a fee of €2.00 per concert ticket upon presenting the subscription card. The original ticket is no longer valid.
8.3.5 Subscription or Flexible Subscription Price
The price depends on the seat category listed in the season brochure. Discounts are only granted when the necessary proof is provided at the time of subscription or renewal.
8.3.6 Subscriber Obligations
Subscribers must inform the ticket service of any changes to their name, address, email, or phone number promptly. If a subscriber claims discounts, they must also inform the ticket service of changes to eligibility.
8.3.7 Changes
The Dresden Philharmonic reserves the right to change subscription conditions for the upcoming concert season. Changes will be communicated to subscribers before the next season.
8.3.8 Scope
Details about each subscription type are provided in the season brochure and on the Dresden Philharmonic website.
9. Data Storage and Use
Personal order data is collected, processed, stored, and used in accordance with data protection laws for contract processing and customer service purposes. Third-party data processing follows Article 28 GDPR, only if necessary for contract fulfillment.
Subscribers have the right to object to the processing and request corrections, deletions, or restrictions on their data.
9.1 Information and Access to Personal Data
Personal data is processed for the purpose of ticket sales, event information, and customer service.
9.2 Legal Notice
Customers can request information about stored personal data and have the right to correct, delete, or restrict its processing. They also have the right to object to processing and to lodge complaints with authorities.
10. Cloakroom
10.1 The cloakroom is available free of charge for events at the Dresden Philharmonic and can be used in the foyer. Visitors will receive a cloakroom ticket in exchange for their items.
Food and drinks, coats, thick jackets, umbrellas, backpacks, canes (except walking aids), large luggage, bags larger than A4, bulky items, and animals (except service and guide dogs, with prior notice) are not allowed in the concert hall. Walking aids can be placed outside the hall and will be returned after the concert or during the break.
10.2 The Dresden Philharmonic is liable for intentional or grossly negligent violations of the storage duty by cloakroom staff.
Liability for stored items is limited to their current value, up to a maximum of €150 per cloakroom ticket.
Cash and valuables are excluded from liability. The storage of these items is at the visitor's own risk.
10.3 The cloakroom staff will return the items upon presentation of the cloakroom ticket without verifying entitlement. A fee of €5.00 is charged for lost tickets.
10.4 Loss or damage to stored items must be reported immediately to the cloakroom staff.
10.5 The Dresden Philharmonic is not liable for items stored in lockers.
11. Mobile Phones | Audio and Video Recording
Mobile phones and other electronic devices, as well as acoustic signals, must be turned off in the audience area.
In the interest of other visitors and the smooth running of concerts, the Dresden Philharmonic reserves the right to request the removal or deletion of recordings and may ask visitors to leave if they do not comply.
Image and sound recordings are prohibited unless authorized. Violations may lead to claims for damages by the Dresden Philharmonic.
12. Lost and Found
12.1 Lost items should be handed over to the service staff immediately.
12.2 Visitors must inform the staff about lost items.
12.3 Lost items can be inquired about at the service desk or the operations office at the Kulturpalast.
13. House Rules
The Dresden Philharmonic exercises house rules during its concerts. Visitors who disrupt ticket sales, disturb others, or fail to follow house rules may be removed from the premises.
Visitors must follow the instructions of the staff. No compensation for tickets or related costs will be provided if removed from the concert or premises.
14. Emergency Situations
In case of fire or other emergencies, visitors must exit the venue immediately via designated exits. Cloakroom services will not be available in such situations. Follow the instructions of the staff or other authorized personnel.
15. Effective Date
These terms and conditions are effective immediately and apply until further notice. They supersede the previous terms and conditions.
