abgeFRACKt: Romeo and Juliet

Competition: 3 young conductors compete with works by Tchaikovsky, Prokofiev, and Bernstein.

About the Concert

Results of the "Campus Conducting" competition: 2nd Prize: Lea Ray, Tim Hüttemeister 3rd Prize: Drummado Wijnhamer Orchestra Prize: Lea Ray Audience Prize: Tim Hüttemeister In our "abgeFRACKt" series, things are a bit different: The concert lasts only up to an hour, the musicians do not play in black tails, and no one has to fear clapping at the wrong time. And certainly, one does not need any special knowledge to understand the music "correctly." Just come, listen, and be surprised. And for those who want to learn more about the music, they can download the free Wolfgang app on their smartphone and be guided through the respective work live during the concert. Afterwards, we invite you to stay in our foyers, enjoy our "Tutti" café, grab an abgeFRACKt cocktail (also available alcohol-free), a glass of wine or beer, and relax, chat, or simply look out at the city from the balcony. Children are welcome, and the Wolfgang app is suitable from a reading age. About the concert: Almost everyone has been in love before. Fortunately, it usually doesn't end as tragically as with Romeo and Juliet, the ultimate love couple. But true art often arises from real tragedy, as in the music in our short concert, where pieces about this love relationship are on the program this time. Additionally, you can witness very young conductors understanding and transforming the pieces into music with the orchestra. The concert is also the finale of the "Campus Conducting" conducting competition.
