Bohemia 1880: While Bedřich Smetana, at the height of his creativity, publishes his most famous tone poem "The Moldau", Antonín Dvořák is composing his sixth symphony, the premiere of which is set to be a great success. The young Leoš Janáček, on the other hand, is revising his early string suite Idylla and expanding it with two movements. The concert programme brings together these three important works of Czech music history and directs our musical gaze towards our neighbours.
