About the Concert

The Latvian Pēteris Vasks is one of the most performed composers of our time. From the beginning, he understood music as a social task. He wanted and wants to give people support and hope. "Love is, was and will be as long as we will live. I believe that solo violin and string orchestra are the best combination for a love story." Our concertmaster Wolfgang Hentrich, in turn, loves this concerto and is just the person to carry Vasks' request into the hearts of the audience.
Franz Schubert loved Mozart. This can be heard especially in his Fifth Symphony, which he wrote at the age of only 19 and which is in the best sense light, cheerful and at the same time downright classically perfect. Ideal, therefore, to complete this concert evening all about love.
