About the Concert

The sale of tickets for these and other events, as well as the sale of elective subscriptions for the upcoming season, will begin on June 21.

When Christian Morgenstern published the poetry collection "Galgenlieder" in 1905, he was famous at a stroke. When Lera Auerbach came across them, too, she was immediately taken with their whimsical and ambiguous poetry and set them to music for saxophone quartet and choir. Why do you think she chose four saxophones? Perhaps because the instrument comes so close to the sound and creative possibilities of the human voice. In any case, in the combination with children's choir all shades of the wonderful poems come to bear...
The Raschèr Saxophone Quartet is unique in the world of classical music. It was founded in 1969 and has been delighting generations of concertgoers ever since. It has also performed with our Philharmonic Children's Choir - a partnership that has proven its worth!
