About the Concert

A thousand lakes and vast forests. That's how one imagines Finland, and that's also how the music of the great Finn Jean Sibelius is supposed to sound - many people say and think. But is that true at all? What about music can sound like a landscape at all? Or is it possible that we have the wrong film playing in our "head cinema" to the beautiful sounds? As sometimes in life, the answers to these questions are not so easy to find: For Sibelius composed large parts of his Second Symphony in warm, sun-drenched Italy. With the Dresden Philharmonic Orchestra, we will travel thousands of kilometres across Europe. Fasten your seatbelts - and off you go!
