An evil sorcerer has turned the beautiful young princess Odette into a swan when she ventured too close to the shore of his lake.  Near the lake is an old castle where a beautiful princess lives with her son Siegfried. Prince Siegfried is magically attracted to the beautiful swans in the lake.  He has no idea that they are actually young girls who have all been turned into swans by the evil sorcerer and who always take on human form for an hour at midnight.  Prince Siegfried falls in love with Princess Odette and learns from her the secret of her transformation, and that she can only be released from the spell through the love and loyalty of a man...
So begins the beautiful fairy tale of Swan Lake, the most beloved ballet classic by Pyotr Tchaikovsky. Swan Lake is the most popular ballet of all.  For many, it has become synonymous with ballet.  Moreover, the music to Swan Lake is one of the most beautiful ballet scores par excellence. Now here comes a very special, beautiful version of this ballet classic for all children aged 4 to 94 on stage, created for children, but by no means childish!  The loving performance is danced by the renowned Prague Festival Ballet in a demanding manner and with great elegance.  Colourful costumes and an imaginative stage set promise to enchant every child's heart.

The charismatic actor Ortwin Spieler, well-known from television, film and theatre, slips into the role of narrator. Catchy little poems full of wit, charm and love captivate young and old.
The Prague Festival Ballet takes you into the wonderland of the playful and romantic, fairytale and dreamlike, which should be part of every child's dream!
