Symphony No. 8
"My head is full of ideas. If only I could write them down immediately" Antonín Dvořák already had his new symphony in mind, but still had to finish a piano quartet. And what ideas he had for his Eighth! Right at the beginning of the first movement, the solo flute plays a bird motif, and he also took other liberties inspired by the summer atmosphere on his country estate in central Bohemia. Today, the symphony is regarded as a link between old Europe and the up-and-coming America, where his famous "Symphony from the New World" was composed shortly afterwards.
Tickets for this event will be available from 12.06.2024 from 10 am.
