Anna Lapkovskaja made her role debut this season as Dalila in Saint-Saëns' Samson et Dalila under the baton of Thomas Guggeis at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden Berlin.
At the Deutsche Oper Berlin she sang the 1st Norn and Floßhilde under Sir Donald Runnicles in the new production of Wagner's Die Götterdämmerung. With the 1st Norn she made her house debut at the Teatro Real Madrid under Pablo Heras-Casado. Concert engagements this season have taken her to the Elbphilharmonie (Schuman's Das Paradies und die Peri) and the Palacio Euskalduna in Bilbao with Mahler's Das Lied von der Erde.

Anna Lapkovskaya's future engagements include appearances at the Concertgebouw Amsterdam as Varvara in Janáček's Katja Kabanowa under Karina Canellakis and Verdi's Messa da Requiem in Munich. With the Berliner Philharmoniker under Sir Simon Rattle, she performs Stravinsky's Berceuses du chat and Pribaoutki at the Berlin Philharmonie. Also under his baton, she will sing Krása' Symphony with the London Symphony Orchestra. In the autumn, the mezzo-soprano can be heard under Daniel Barenboim in Dmitri Tcherniakov's new production of Wagner's Ring at the Staatsoper Berlin. Next season she will make her role debut as Maddalena in Verdi's Rigoletto.

In addition to her operatic activities, Anna Lapkovskaja devotes herself intensively to concert and lied singing. She has performed Brahms' Alto Rhapsody, Rossini's Stabat mater, Beethoven's Missa solemnis, Mahler's Kindertotenlieder, Wagner's Wesendonck Lieder and the two great Bach Passions. With the Staatskapelle Berlin she performed Mahler's Das Lied von der Erde. At the Berlin Philharmonie under Daniel Barenboim she performed Boulez' Le visage nuptial and Debussy's Le Martyre de Saint Sébastien. With the Borusan Istanbul Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Sascha Goetzel, she sang Verdi's Messa da Requiem and Berlioz's Les nuits d'été.

She has a regular collaboration with Sir Simon Rattle, under whom she has sung Varvara in Janáček's Katja Kabanowa at the Berlin State Opera, Dackel/Mrs Pásek in Das schlaue Füchslein with the Berlin Philharmonic and the London Symphony Orchestra at the Barbican Hall London and the Grande Salle Pierre Boulez in Paris, Janáček's Glagolitische
Mass at the Berlin Philharmonie and as Grimgerde in Wagner's Die Walküre at the Herkulessaal in Munich with the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra.

Anna Lapkovskaja comes from Minsk and grew up in Munich. She studied opera and concert singing at the Munich University of Music and Theatre and the Bavarian Theatre Academy August Everding. She owes her vocal training to Maria Janina Hake. For her development into a
collaboration with the pianists Rudi Spring, Donald Sulzen and Tamás Kéry. In addition to her studies, the mezzo-soprano won 1st prize at the competition of the Kulturkreis Gasteig in Munich in 2008. In 2010 she took 3rd prize at the International Leyla Gencer Voice Competition in Istanbul. She was a member of the sponsorship

Anna Lapkovskaja made her operatic debut in 2010 at the Staatstheater Nuremberg, where her roles included the title role in Bizet's Carmen, Suzuki in Puccini's Madame Butterfly and Marchesa Melibea in Rossini's Il Viaggio a Reims. In the world premiere of Glanert's Das Holzschiff she took on the role of Gustav Anias Horn.

At the Staatsoper Unter den Linden, the mezzo-soprano made her Berlin debut in 2011 in the role of Mascha in Eötvös' Tri Sestri. This was followed by the roles of Gymnasiast in Berg's Lulu, Floßhilde, Grimgerde and 1st Norn in Wagner's Der Ring des
Nibelungen, Dunja in Rimsky-Korsakov's The Tsar's Bride and Magdalene in Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg.

Anna Lapkovskaja debuted at Teatro alla Scala di Milano and at the BBC Proms in London in 2013. At the Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden in 2015 she made her role debuts as Rosina in Rossini's Il barbiere di Siviglia and Adalgisa in Bellini's Norma. At the Bayreuth Festival in 2015 she appeared with Floßhilde and 1st Norn under Kirill Petrenko. With him on the podium, the mezzo-soprano sang Sonjetka in Shostakovich's Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk at the Bavarian State Opera in 2016. Scala in Milan in 2017 as Magdalene, directed by Harry Kupfer. In the same year she performed the title role in Bizet's Carmen with the MDR Symphony Orchestra at the Gewandhaus Leipzig. In the 18/19 season, the singer made her debut at the Teatro Colón as Mascha in Eötvös' Tri Sestri and as Preziosilla in Verdi's La forza del destino at the Ópera Nacional de Chile.

She has worked with directors such as Harry Kupfer, Dmitri Tcherniakov, Peter Sellars, Andrea Breth, Robert Carsen and Damián Szifron.
