Caroline Renn, double bass, was born and raised in Australia. She started piano lessons at the age of four before switching to double bass in high school. She completed studies at the Sydney Conservatorium with Alex Henery and at the Australian National Academy of Music with Damien Eckersley. She has been a substitute with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and Orchestra Victoria and has performed with the Australian Chamber Orchestra, Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra and West Australian Symphony Orchestra. In late 2020, she moved to Austria for further studies. Since then, she has been a guest at the Schleswig Holstein Music Festival and received a guest contract for a contemporary chamber opera at the Landestheater Linz. Since March 2022, Caroline Renn has been a member of the Kurt Masur Academy - Orchestra Academy of the Dresden Philharmonic.
