Carsten Gießmann studied between 1990 and 1997 in the main subject French horn at the Hochschule für Musik "Franz Liszt" Weimar with Prof. Rainer Heimbuch and Prof. Karl Biehlig. Between 1993 and 1997 he was 2nd horn player of the "Anhaltische Philharmonie" Dessau and since 1997 he is 4th horn player of the Dresden Philharmonic Orchestra.
