Colin Pütz

Colin Pütz (*2007) started playing the piano at the age of 5 years. Since 2017 Colin is studying piano at the Pre College Cologne, an institute of University for Music and Dance Cologne. He is teached by Prof. Florence Millet and Boris Radulovic. In addition to that, Colin regularly takes part in piano masterclasses, i.e. with Konstantin Scherbakov, Pavel Gililov, Jaques Rouvier, Antti Siirala and Matthias Kirschnereit. Colin is scholarship holder of International Music Academy Liechtenstein and participates in international masterclasses and concerts of the academy.   

Colin has significant experience on behalf of solo performances (i.e. Klavierfestival Ruhr, Rheingau Musikfestival, Beethovenfest Bonn, Festival Pro Constantia, Claviernacht Köln, Wuppertaler Musiksommer, Festival of Youth Toblach/Südtirol, Festival Academies International d ́ Ete Nancy).
 
 10 years old, Colin celebrated his debut as soloist with orchestra. He performed the piano concerto No. 12. from W.A. Mozart. Meanwhile Colin gained comprehensive experience in giving concerts with orchestras. Among that are 3 concerts with the Beethoven Orchestra Bonn (September 2020), where Colin performed the Rondo B-flat major, WoO6, from Ludwig van Beethoven, including cadenzas Colin composed by himself. In March 2021 he played together with WDR Symphony Orchestra. Colins debut on international stage took place in September 2021 with the Orchestre National de France and its conductor Cristian Măcelaru. Colin performed the 2nd piano concerto from F. Chopin. In July 2022 Colin played with Jena Philharmonic Orchestra on behalf of the final concert of International Weimar Masterclasses. In November 2022 Colin gave two concerts with George Enescu Philharmonic Orchestra and Cristian Măcelaru in Athenaeum Bukarest, performing the piano concerto Nr. 21 von W.A. Mozart. In September 2023 Colin had his debut in the Tonhalle Düsseldorf, with Tschaikowski, 1st piano concerto. 
 

Participation in competitions and awards


Colin achieved several awards in international and national piano competitons (i.e. 1. prices at Cesar Franck International Piano Competiton Bruxelles/Belgium, International Henle Piano Competition, Westfälischer van Bremen Klavierwettbewerb). In 2022 Colin was awarded with a first price and a special price for his duet with transverse flute on behalf of the nationwide music competition „Jugend musiziert“. In 2023 Colin achieved the 1st prize on national level as well in the category „piano solo“.

A musical challenge of a different kind Colin faced as an actor in a movie about Ludwig van Beethoven, produced by German and Austrian TV. The movie was dedicated to Beethovens 250th anniversary in 2020. Colin played the character of Beethoven as a child and performed the soundtrack live on the set with historical instruments.
