Ensemble Vocapella Limburg

The Ensemble Vocapella Limburg, founded in 2007, consists of young men from the Limburg region who share their musical roots in the Limburg Cathedral Boys’ Choir and, under the direction of Tristan Meister, dedicate themselves to demanding male choral singing.

The choir has earned an excellent reputation and is regularly invited to perform both in Germany and abroad. Concert tours have already taken the singers to the USA, Israel, Japan, Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay, Hungary, Belgium, the Czech Republic, France, Bulgaria, Portugal, and throughout Germany. In 2020, the ensemble was invited as a representative of Germany to the World Symposium on Choral Music in New Zealand.

First prizes and category victories at the German Choir Competition in Weimar (2014) as well as at international choir competitions in Budapest (2013), Varna (2016), and Lindenholzhausen (2024) document numerous competitive successes. As part of the German Choir Competition, the ensemble also received the special prize for Contemporary Music, along with the production of the CD “Vom Werden und Vergehen” (2016) by Rondeau Production. With the same label, the CD “Alwin M. Schronen – Männerchöre” (2020) and the world’s first complete recording of all male choir works by Max Reger across three CDs (2016, 2017, 2024) were released. As early as 2012, they published their first CD, “In der Ferne”.

The choir’s repertoire includes sacred and secular male choir literature from all eras, ranging from works of the Renaissance to world premieres of contemporary compositions, which are regularly commissioned from renowned composers.
