Freies Ensemble Dresden

The FREIES ENSEMBLE DRESDEN was founded on the occasion of a performance of A. Schönberg's "Pierrot Lunaire" at a benefit concert in 2000.
With this start, the ensemble's profile became clear: free from mainstream expectations, with the highest artistic quality and lively idealism, the Dresden musicians offer thoughtful programmes. Since then, the list of works performed has grown and it is clear that with more than 230 works by 110 composers, the ensemble's repertoire is unusually broad.
Consisting of outstanding musicians from Dresden's rich music scene, the FREIEN ENSEMBLE DRESDEN opens up all possibilities of chamber music from duo to large ensemble. The members of the ensemble are sought-after chamber music partners on international stages and in media productions. Detailed information can be obtained from the links on the ensemble's homepage.
In its home town, the FREIE ENSEMBLE DRESDEN shapes the musical programme with continuous creativity. It plays in the concert series of the Dresden Philharmonic and the Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden as well as at the Dresden Music Festival and is regularly represented at regional festivals.
