Heiko Mürbe was born in Dresden in 1963. He studied at the Dresden Conservatory with Erich Krüger from 1984 to 1989 and did postgraduate studies in Cincinnati/USA with Masao Kawasaki in 1991/1992. Since 1989 he has been a member of the Dresden Philharmonic Orchestra and pursues an active chamber music career. He has made CD recordings with the t.e.c.c.-quartet and the Dresdner Kapellsolisten, of which he is a member.
