The Jazzchor Dresden under the direction of Michael Blessing presents rousing a cappella music beyond the "classical" tradition. Founded in 2012 as a project choir of the aCappella Netzwerk e.V., it now has 45 active members. They all share a passion for modern a cappella music. Warm groovy basses, a multi-faceted sound and beatbox rhythms shape the choir's characteristic sound. Highlights of the choir's more than ten-year history include a joint performance with Jan Böhmermann in Neo Magazin Royale, a third prize in the competition of the Deutscher Chorfest 2022 and several awards in the Förderpreis der Dresdner Laienchöre. In its anniversary year, the choir celebrated the premiere of its new programme at the Boulevardtheater Dresden.
In 2018, the first CD "Debüt!" was released. The release of the second album "PART OF US" is announced for mid-2023.
