Luisa Hülsmann, oboe, received instrumental lessons on recorder, oboe and piano at a young age in her hometown of Tübingen. She achieved several first and second prizes in the state and national competition "Jugend Musiziert". She began her studies in 2014 in Frankfurt am Main with Prof. Fabian Menzel with a starter scholarship for particularly good performance in the entrance exams and has been continuing them since 2018 at the Hochschule für Musik Mainz with Prof. Daniela Tessmann. Master classes with Christian Wetzel, Hansjörg Schellenberger, Heike Steinbrecher and Giorgi Gvantseladze, among others, complement her musical education. In addition to her studies, she gained practical orchestral experience in the orchestra of the Pfalztheater Kaiserslautern and the Philharmonic State Orchestra Mainz. In 2017, she won one of the coveted scholarships of the German National Academic Foundation and has also been supported by the Villa Musica State Foundation since the 2021/22 season. She was a semi-finalist in the international online Virtual Oboe Competition 2020. Since March 2022 Luisa Hülsmann is a member of the Kurt Masur Academy - Orchestra Academy of the Dresden Philharmonic Orchestra.
