Meiling Daniell-Greenhalgh (Meiling Joy) is a mezzo-soprano from the United Kingdom. She completed her Master’s degree in singing in the summer of 2025 at the Carl Maria von Weber University of Music in Dresden. She has already sung various opera roles, including Cherubino in "Le nozze di Figaro" (Mozart), Dido in "Dido and Aeneas" (Purcell), Hermia in "A Midsummer Night’s Dream" (Britten) and Dulcinée in "Don Quichotte" (Massenet). At the Staatsschauspiel Dresden, she has portrayed the roles of Anette and a Jewish girl in "Die Weiße Rose" by Udo Zimmermann.
Her most recent performances include the role of Hansel in Humperdinck’s "Hansel and Gretel" with the Elbland Philharmonic Orchestra, as well as the solo alto part in Rossini’s "Petite Messe Solennelle" in Sebnitz in the summer of 2026.
She has also performed at renowned London concert halls such as the Royal Festival Hall, the Royal Albert Hall and St John’s Smith Square, as well as with the Dresdner Residenz Orchester and at Berliner Dom. Her studies were supported by a scholarship from the Giovanni Omodeo Foundation. Since the 2025/26 season, she has been singing with the RIAS Kammerchor Berlin and the choir of the Landesbühnen Sachsen.
