Michael G. Fritz was born in East Berlin in 1953. He studied deep drilling technology at the Freiberg Mining Academy, but was de-registered in 1975 for political reasons. He initially worked as a warehouse worker and co-driver and from 1976 held various positions in the Dresden Municipal Libraries. In 1993, he was rehabilitated and awarded his diploma by the Freiberg Mining Academy.
Michael G. Fritz lives as a writer and publicist in Dresden and Berlin. Some of his texts have been translated into Polish, English, French, Romanian and Italian.
He runs a workshop with up-and-coming authors, works as a moderator of literary events for various partners and opens art exhibitions.
