The baritone Nikolai Füchte received his basic musical training in his home city of Berlin, studying singing, cello and piano. Having won two first prizes and a second national prize at the “Jugend musiziert” competition, he has been studying singing at the Dresden University of Music in Prof. Hartmut Zabel’s class since 2022. He gained further artistic inspiration through masterclasses with Simon Wallfisch, Karola Theill and Nena Brzakovic.
Nikolai Füchte has worked with conductors including Hans-Christoph Rademann, Gotthold Schwarz, Jonathan Nott, Olaf Katzer and Stefan Parkman. He is a permanent member of AuditivVokal Dresden and the Dresden Chamber Choir, where he regularly performs as a soloist.
Engagements as a concert soloist have taken him to venues including the “Sumartónleikar í Skálholti” festival in Iceland, the “Koningin Elisabethzaal” in Antwerp, the “Kulturpalast” in Dresden, as well as to Spain, Romania and the Netherlands. His repertoire ranges from Baroque music such as Monteverdi’s ‘Vespers for the Virgin Mary’, Schütz’s ‘Musical Exequies’ and Bach’s ‘St John Passion’ to the requiem settings by Mozart and Fauré, as well as Saint-Saëns’ ‘Oratorio de Noël’.
As part of his lieder training with Michael Schütze and Olaf Bär, Nikolai has performed in several recitals at the Kügelgen-Haus and the Dresden University of Music (HfM Dresden).
He will make his opera debut in "Brundibár" in the role of the ‘Dog’.
