Philharmonischer Chor Oslo

The Oslo Philharmonic Choir (Oslo Filharmoniske Kor) was founded in 1921 and made its debut in 1922 with the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra performing Beethoven's Ninth Symphony. Since then, it has been the main vocal partner of the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra, performing regularly with its current chief conductor Klaus Mäkelä and renowned guest conductors. Since 2006, Øystein Fevang has been artistic director of the Oslo Philharmonic Choir.

Over the past ten years, the choir, which consists of around 100 singers, has performed in around 170 concerts with the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra under some of the world's most famous conductors. The choir has a very broad repertoire of choral-symphonic works and has also steadily developed its a-cappella qualities under the direction of its conductor Øystein Fevang. The choir's recordings include "Gregorian Key", "Edvard Grieg a cappella" and "Julestemning".

Today, the Oslo Philharmonic Choir is recognised by critics, audiences and guest conductors as one of the best Nordic choirs.
