Soprano Regine Hangler has been a member of the Vienna State Opera ensemble since the 2013/14 season, where she has appeared in many roles, including Rosalinde (Die Fledermaus), Daphne (Daphne), Elsa (Lohengrin), Chrysothemis (Elektra), Gutrune (Götterdämmerung), Freia (Das Rheingold), Helmwige (Die Walküre) and in the title role of Ariadne auf Naxos.
With great success she embodied the title role in Daphne in Berlin under Marek Janowski and in New York and Cleveland under Franz Welser-Möst, Xanthe in Die Liebe der Danae at the Salzburg Festival and Gutrune at the Spring Festival Tokyo. In 2018, she made her acclaimed debut at the Harusai Spring Festival in Tokyo as Elsa, at the Bayreuth Festival and Opéra National de Paris as Helmwige, and at La Scala in Milan as Chrysothemis. In the summer of 2021, Regine Hangler participated in the Salzburg Festival's production of Elektra.
As a concert singer Regine Hangler has performed in Austria, Germany, Italy, Albania, the Netherlands, Slovenia, Hungary, Israel and Japan. In recent years, she has made numerous CD productions, radio and television broadcasts.
Regine Hangler began her musical education as a violinist and violist. With the change to singing she realized her childhood dream and then also completed her studies at the Carinthian State Conservatory and at the University of Music in Vienna, both with distinction. At the same time she worked with KS Mara Zampieri in Padua. Numerous master classes rounded off her education. She was a frequent recipient of various scholarships for gifted students, a finalist in the Aslico competition in Italy and won 2nd prize in the Birgit Nilsson competition.
