Sebastian Freitag, born in Paderborn, studied church music (A examination) and organ (concert examination) at the Hochschule für Musik in Detmold with Gerhard Weinberger, Martin Sander and Tomasz Adam Nowak.
Since March 2022, he has been working as a cathedral organist in Dresden on the last and largest organ from Gottfried Silbermann's workshop.
He previously worked as a deanery church musician from 2013-2022 and as interim cathedral organist in Paderborn from 2011-2013.
He also held a teaching position for organ at the University of Paderborn from 2017-2021.
He performed the complete works of Bach (2018), Franck (2019) and Buxtehude (2021) in Paderborn.
Two CD recordings as well as recordings for television and radio round off his activities.
