Sebastian Rehrl was born in Freilassing in 2002 and received his first trombone lessons from his father, Harald Rehrl, at the age of nine. In 2015, he became a young student in Prof. Wolfram Arndt’s class in Munich. Even before beginning his regular studies, he acquired orchestral experience in the Salzburg and Bavarian State Youth Orchestras.
Since 2020, he has been studying at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich, where lessons with Quirin Willert and Benjamin Appel in 2021 and 2022 also shaped his musical development. He furthered his orchestral experience as a Academy member of the Bad Reichenhall Philharmonic and the Rhenish Philharmonic in Koblenz.
Since 2025, Sebastian Rehl has been the associate principal bass trombonist of the Dresden Philharmonic.
