Tobias Mäthger

Tobias Mäthger studied singing with Matthias Weichert and Olaf Bär, conducting with Hans-Christoph Rademann and school music in Dresden and works as a freelance singer, conductor and teacher. As a member and soloist of the Dresdner Kammerchor, he was involved in the award-winning Heinrich Schütz complete recording.

He has also worked with renowned artists and ensembles such as Kent Nagano, Mark Minkowski, Riccardo Chailly, Rafael Frübeck de Burgos, Peter Schreier, Ludger Remý, Ekkehard Klemm, Matthias Goerne, the Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden, the Dresden Philharmonic, the Cologne Chamber Orchestra, the Bremen Chamber Philharmonic, the Dresdner Kreuzchor, the Rheinische Kantorei, the Dresdner Singakademie as a soloist or in rehearsals.

In addition to his main field of activity, historical performance practice, he also devotes himself to contemporary music. He can be heard as soloist on numerous episodes of the award-winning Schütz complete recording of the Dresdner Kammerchor.
