Valentina Kutzarova

Received her first musical education in her hometown Varna (Bulgaria) and graduated from the Music Academy of Sofia. 1992-1993 she was a member of the International Opera Studio of the Zurich Opera House. In 1993 she made her debut at the Landestheater Linz in the Mozart opera "Titus", where she celebrated great successes as Charlotte in "Werther", Rosina in "Barbiere di Siviglia", Angelina in "Cenerentola", Isabella in "L'Italiana in Algeri" and Carmen, among others. She also exuded her charm in trouser roles such as Hansel, Cherubino in "Le nozze di Figaro", Orlofsky, Niklausse in "Die Hoffmann's Erzählungen", Romeo in "I Capuleti e Montecchi" and Octavian in "Der Rosenkavalier". Since then, numerous guest contracts have taken her to important opera houses such as the Bavarian State Opera in Munich, the Opèra du Paris, the Teatro La Fenice in Venice, the Teatro San Carlo in Naples, the Grand Théatre de Genève, de Bordeaux, the Opèra de Montpellier, Bilbao, Las Palmas, Guadalajara( Mexico) and to the Bregenz Festival. Valentina Kutzarova is also in demand as a concert singer - her repertoire spans a wide range from Baroque to Beethoven, Mahler and contemporary music. During her long and successful career Valentina has worked with conductors such as Giovanni Antonini, Andrea Marcon, Reinhard Göbel, Adam Fischer, Frans Brüggen, Alain Guingal, David Zinman, Philippe Jordan and Marko Letonja. Valentina Kutzarova won the Grand Prix and the First Prize of the Audience at the International Singing Competition in "Rocca delle Macie" in Siena and the 2nd Prize and Special Prize for the best interpretation of Grieg songs at the International "Queen Sonja" in Oslo.
