Principal conductor Sir Donald Runnicles is British. Our composer in residence Sir James MacMillan is British. Palace organist Anna Lapwood and many other conductors and soloists of the 25/26 season also live on the island. And there is great music from Great Britain! What could be more natural than to weave these aspects through the season like a common thread?

Of course, the focus is on music, but there is much more to being “very British.” From the Union Jack, the distinctive British flag, to tartan kilts and the legendary five o'clock tea, we have drawn inspiration for the supporting program, so you can look forward to something special!
