About the Concert

Tickets for this event will be available from 12.06.2024 from 10 am.

French music in German concert halls is a matter of course today. This was not quite the case 100 years ago: Claude Debussy saw himself as a patriotic pioneer for the music of his home country in contrast to the German music on the other side of the Rhine. And his compatriot César Franck also composed in a way that is still considered very French today. The only difference is that today one music is hardly played off against the other. Instead, we simply play them, as our Artist in Residence Augustin Hadelich and his piano partner Francesco Piemontesi masterfully do in this concert. And in doing so, they present summit works of European music for violin and piano almost incidentally.
