About the Concert

The sale of tickets for these and other events, as well as the sale of elective subscriptions for the upcoming season, will begin on JUNE 21.

People are quick to speak of "exceptional artists" when they mean that someone has an extraordinary command of their instrument. In the case of Julia Fischer, this is no empty phrase, because the violinist, who has been a guest performer on all the world's major concert stages for over twenty years and, incidentally, plays the piano just as well as the violin, is definitely an exception. Artistically as well as with her enormous commitment to the promotion of young violinists. For our concert, she will bring Elgar's masterpiece, which is still one of the most frequently performed and most popular violin concertos. The same can be said about Brahms' fourth and last symphony, which with its rich melodies is a highlight among the works of the late Romantic period. Especially its beginning has written itself into music history: no introduction, no musical opening - the music just starts as if it had always been there. And already the listener is under its spell...
