About the Concert

Tickets for this event will be available from 12.06.2024 from 10 am.

Gustav Mahler almost always composed out of his own mood. And so one would expect his Sixth Symphony to be written in a less than cheerful mood, as it is called the "Tragic". But he was in the best of moods in the summer of 1903! Perhaps that's exactly what you should think of when you hear the many march-like sections of the work and the cowbells that remind you of a carefree hike in the mountains. However, the music still has tragic elements and by the time we hear the hammer blows in the finale, we believe we are in a battle between the good and evil forces that determine our lives
