About the Concert

What is it? Not a symphony, not an overture, not a keyboard lion at the piano, but a "concerto for orchestra", which is also one! In this composition by Béla Bartók, all the musicians of the Dresden Philharmonic Orchestra are allowed to perform as soloists - a wonderful collaboration in a large ensemble! But why doesn't chaos break out on stage with so many people and notes? How is the orchestra organized? Malte and the curious earth girl Phili go in search of clues: in front of, behind, above and of course under the stage in the Kulturpalast.

Biographies

Lionel Bringuier

Just one year after completing his studies in Paris, Nice-born Lionel Bringuier won the Besançon International Conducting Competition. Symphony and chamber orchestras as well as opera houses around the world regularly invite the charismatic Frenchman, and he also works with soloists such as Yuja Wang, Renaud Capuçon and Gautier Capuçon, Anne-Sophie Mutter and Emanuel Ax. He is passionately committed to developing the careers of young conductors and musicians.

Victoria Esper

Voice Phili

Victoria Esper brings the meerkat Phili to life with her voice at our family concerts. She enjoys stimulating the children's imagination and, together with Malte Arkona and the Dresden Philharmonic, contributing to a lively music education.
