About the Concert

Beethoven's symphonies belong to the "basic equipment" of all orchestras. Who has not heard the "ta-ta-ta-taaaa" somewhere! What is so fascinating about his works? Why did Beethoven become a classic in the first place? What is behind "Fate Symphony" - the nickname of the Fifth Symphony? The Dresden Philharmonic invites students to learn about the music and life of Beethoven.

Stephanie Childress

Stephanie Childress is making her mark as a conductor of remarkable skill and has been likened to “other notable young conductors of the past such as Sir John Eliot Gardiner and Sir Simon Rattle” (Varsity). Her musicianship and command of a broad scope of repertoire has led to engagements with symphony orchestras and opera houses across the international stage.

Malte Arkona

Malte Arkona is known to a wide audience as an actor, dubbing artist and TV presenter. He has proven that he is a true master of vocal acrobatics in the radio play for the ARD series Babylon Berlin and in the dubbing of the series Modern Family (Prof. Arvin Fennerman), among others. As host of the popular shows Tigerenten Club and Die beste Klasse Deutschlands he became popular with young and old.
