About the Concert

How does a stick get into a violin? Why do old instruments, of all things, sound particularly good? What is it about "the slip of paper"? And who is actually responsible for the "half violin"? Questions upon questions, which Malte will answer this morning in the Kulturpalast with the large Dresden Philharmonic Orchestra and lots of music. He will find support from Sergey Khachatryan, who plays on a beautiful instrument dating from 1740. Born in the Armenian capital Yerevan, the great soloist has brought with him from his homeland the Violin Concerto by Aram Khachaturian - a composer who wrote more than just the "Saber Dance".
