Gardens & Nature

Sometimes it's all too much. Too loud. Too fast. Too close.

Our natural paradises open up soundscapes where the noise of everyday life fades away. Forests, mountains, light and wind become music here – spacious, breathing and powerful.

In these programmes, however, nature is not just a beautiful backdrop, but something to be experienced: sometimes overwhelming, like a thunderstorm in the mountains, other times shimmering like summer air. And you can always sense how fragile these paradises are – and how much they need our protection.

Wide Open Spaces, Landscapes, Elemental Forces

Whether in the "Alpine Symphony", in the Nordic soundscapes of Sibelius, or in the powerful opening of Grieg’s Piano Concerto, this music opens up vast spaces. Music becomes mountains, the sky and wide open landscapes. You hear the wind, feel movement, and sense the interplay of light and shadow. These works reveal nature in its often overwhelming grandeur — a grandeur that inspires admiration, yet also reminds us of the respect it demands.

Light, Southern Landscapes, Mediterranean Gardens

Nature is not always harsh and overwhelming; sometimes it is warm and bathed in light, inviting us to experience it mindfully.

Mendelssohn’s "Italian Symphony" captures this southern spirit: sun on stone, movement in the air, a rhythm that dances and breathes. Here nature becomes a radiant atmosphere full of energy. Respighi’s "Pini di Roma" also conjures up southern landscapes in bright colours. The music is almost like a stroll through a Mediterranean garden, with all its rich colours, sensuality and vitality.
