Floris Faber

Floris Faber, born in Amsterdam in 1994, started playing the violin at the age of 6. After 5 years he was accepted into the "Sweelinck Academy" of the "Conservatorium van Amsterdam" for young talents.

There he received solo lessons, played chamber music and was a member of the NSJO orchestra ("Nederlands jeugd strijk orkest").

At the age of 18 he started playing the viola. In his first year he received lessons from Judith Wijzenbeek, after he started his bachelor at the "Conservatorium van Amsterdam". There he received lessons from Prof. Marjolein Dispa and took numerous master classes with, among others: Jürgen Kussmaul, Nobuko Imai, Daniel Bard, Francien Schatborn and Pauline Sachse.

During his 4-year bachelor studies he participated several times in orchestra projects of the NJO ("Nederlands jeugd orkest") as well as the "Conservatorium orkest van Amsterdam". He also participated in many chamber music projects there.

Since September 2018 he is now an acadamist of the Dresden Philharmonic Orchestra in combination with a master at the "Musikhochschule Dresden, Carl Maria v. Weber". There he receives lessons from Pauline Sachse and Andreas Kuhlmann.
