Olaf Kindel has been a member of the Dresden Philharmonic Orchestra since 1999. He received violin lessons during his school years and studied computer science at the Technical University of Dresden before only beginning to play the double bass with R. Hoppe at the age of 21. He studied in Frankfurt/Main with G. Klaus and two years later became a trainee in the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra. He finished his music studies with Chr. Rolle in Dresden.
