Concertmaster of the 1st violins
in the orchestra since 1981

Prof. Ralf-Carsten Brömsel became a student of Ingolf Brinkmann at the Special School of Music Dresden in 1965 and studied violin at the Carl Maria von Weber Academy of Music Dresden from 1974-1979, where he was also a master student of Gustav Schmahl. In 1979 he received his first engagement at the Staatskapelle Dresden. Since 1981, he has been Coordinating Concertmaster of the Dresden Philharmonic Orchestra, and, since 2007, Concertmaster of the Dresden Jewish Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra.

He is a prizewinner of various international competitions and has performed on numerous stages in Europe, Israel, Central Asia, Japan, Canada, USA, Central and South America. Since 1995 he has taught at the Dresden University of Music, where he has held a professorship for violin since 2004.
