Xianbo Wen

in the orchestra since 2015

Xianbo Wen was born in Chaozhou (China).
He received his first violin lessons at the age of 8.

In 2000, he was accepted at the prestigious Shanghai Conservatory of Music as a junior student and studied there until 2006.

From 2006, Xianbo Wen studied in the United States with Prof. Weigang Li of the Shanghai String Quartet. In 2009 he moved to the Hochschule für Musik "Hans Eisler" in Berlin to study with Prof. Ulf Wallin.

During his studies, he participated in several master classes of eminent violinists, such as Zakhar Bron, Ani Kavafian and Arnold Steinhardt, among others. He also gained ample orchestral experience as an academist with the Deutsches Symphonie Orchester Berlin and as a substitute with the Berliner Philharmoniker.

In 2012, he won the 3rd prize at the Jeunesses International Violin Competition in Bucharest.

From 2013, Xianbo Wen studied again in the USA at the Bard College Conservatory of Music with Prof. Shmuel Ashkenasi.

In 2020, he began a master's program with Prof. Natalia Prishepenko at the Hochschule für Musik Carl Maria von Weber Dresden.

Since September 2015 he is a member of the 1st violins in the Dresden Philharmonic Orchestra.
