What would a painting sound like if it were music? The Russian composer Modest Mussorgsky tried it out, and the result is his famous “Pictures at an Exhibition”. There, sellers are squabbling in a turbulent market, a limping gnome sneaks by, chirping chicks hatch from their eggshells and dance a ballet. Together with the orchestra and Malte Arkona, we also encounter the wicked witch Baba Yaga, meet playing children in the park, visit an old castle, and walk through the great gate of Kyiv. Can’t you imagine it? Then come with your class to the cultural palace for the school concert!
