About the Concert

He inaugurated our organ in 2017, was the palace organist multiple times, and has now recorded the first album on the Eule organ together with the Dresden Philharmonic. Olivier Latry presents works by composers who are particularly close to him in this concert, including Bach, Vierne, and Langlais. He considers his fellow countryman Marcel Dupré as a key composer of modern French organ technique, admiring him as a master of improvisation and considering himself as his heir. In this concert, he gives a taste of the CD programme with a prelude and fugue by his great role model and showcases his immense improvisational skills.

Invited by the Dresdner Philharmonie on the occasion of the release of the first CD with the Eule organ at the Kulturpalast – featuring Olivier Latry and the Dresdner Philharmonie.
