About the Concert
Duration: approx. 1 hr 30 mins without intermission
The Dresden Kreuzchor presents a varied programme featuring a light performance with works by Heinrich Schütz, motets by Johann Sebastian Bach, and contemporary music. In addition to a cappella compositions and those accompanied by a Baroque consort, works featuring a highly rarely heard instrument will be performed: the glass harmonica. A particular highlight is the performance of Ēriks Ešenvalds’ "Stars", an impressive choral work accompanied by the glass harmonica. The ethereal sounds of the water-tuned glasses give the music an almost otherworldly dimension – calm and cosmic, yet mysterious and spiritual. The sensitive words of the work merge with the floating sounds to create an intense listening experience.

At the invitation of the Dresden PhilharmonicArtists
