The Philharmonic Choir can look back on more than 50 successful years, marked by numerous concerts and national and international concert tours.
The ensemble, which currently has around 70 singers, cooperates with numerous choirs and orchestras and makes guest appearances in and outside Dresden.
Its repertoire includes choral symphonic works, oratorios and a cappella literature. Radio recordings and CD recordings document the quality, ambition and versatility of the ensemble.
From 2012 to 2022, Prof. Gunter Berger was the choir's artistic director and conducted numerous concerts. Iris Geißler took over as choir director in October 2022. In addition to the weekly choir rehearsals, the singers receive regular voice training. New singers with choir experience are always welcome.
A non-profit association supports the choir financially for special projects.
